bupropion (generic zyban) mix with stuff

It depends on what u r taking.

However, for sure, DO NOT combine bupropion with anything containing St. John is wort, melatonin, valerian, ephedrine, l-tryptophan, or ''old style'' cold medicines containing pseudoephedrine. If u combine these, u r risking seizures & possibly worse. Anything which raises the serotonin or norepinephrine levels in the brain (which these supplements do) in conjunction with bupropion can be very dangerous, since it has effects on the same pathways.

messing with ur brain chemistry is always scary stuff.I took bupropion for a while & the only *really* bad interaction I experienced was with some cold pills that have dextromethorphan in it, I found out the hard way that a good rule of thumb is not to mix with anything that says not to take with an MAOI , even though its not an MAOI, it works along similar pathways in the brain...
Any herbal/OTC stuff is risky because not a lot of testing has been done on those items & herbal preparations r not regulated by any gov't agency (not that that will always make a difference).

Check with your Doctor first, Bupropion (Zyban, Wellbutrin) can cause seizures and anxiety in some people. It is a really effective med when taken correctly, but like I said, it does not mix well with many other meds. Please check with your Doctor or Pharmacist!
